Who doesn't love a hummingbird? Whether buzzing around a feeder or flitting around a garden, they are fascinating tiny birds with amazing acrobatic abilities and bright flashes of irredescent colors.
The hummingbird gets its name from the hum of its rapidly rotating wings. However, they are efficient communicators with a variety of "cheeps" and "chatters." You'll most often hear these spirited calls as they fight over dominance at their favorite feeding spots.
The sequence of the hummingbird's cheeps, pictured above, look almost identical to a twill pattern in the weaving draft (pictured here). This draft features the 2-3-2 pattern sequence seen above in the birdsong.
This soft and luxurious scarf has subtle triangular patterning that mimics the bird's feathers and showcases the bold coloring of the male's ruby throat.
