Weaving inspired by the Bluebird Song

Eastern Bluebirds are among the most popular of songbirds. The male's contrasting blue and orange colors make the bird easily recognizable and translates beautifully into an interesting woven piece. 

The sound pattern of the bluebird song has intricate "shadowy' trills. 

This twill pattern emulates the central portion of the birdsong pattern pictured above.  

Light and dark yarns create the shadow effects of the song pattern in the finished woven fabric.
